This is a vintage J Robertson bagpipe chanter. I have owned it for many years, but never got good enough to play the bagpipes. It is 14 and 1/4 inches long, end to end. These chanters are highly sought after. It is stamped J Robertson Edinburgh. You can compare this with similar ones on various piper sites. If you want to try a better chanter with an existing set of pipes, or you want a spare Robertson, this might be one to choose. Perhaps viewers will find these remarks helpful. Hi, just some friendly advice on the chanters you’ve listed recently: older chanters are not in high demand because the pitch is much lower than most people play today. The exception would be chanters with sterling silver soles which could sell for a few hundred, but the value is entirely in the silver. Best of luck to you! Soloists play in their pitch. A band plays too high for my ears. I own antiques with original chanters. Decades or centuries they still play. Can pricey electronics say that?
