Except Drone Reeds, for which we strongly recommend Pipe Dreams Ezee Drone Reeds. This Henderson Bagpipes instrument is a reproduction of a Bagpipe made by P. Henderson around 1930s – 1940s Era. The exact year it was manufactured is not know but it’s between the 1930 – 1940s in Glasgow. Like the original, the tone of these pipes is rich and subtle. Made of the rare and exquisite African Blackwood. Melanoxylon in its natural color with Nickle mounts. Comes with 2 Chanter Reeds. They were won by well know Scottish piping figure, Pipe Major who played them with success in numerous solo and grade 1 pipe band competitions with the lothian and borders police pipe band. They have also been played at many prominent engagements including royal functions, Edinburgh tattoo, Toronto intercontinental tattoo etc. We acquired the bagpipe from him, was so impressed with the appearance and tonal qualities of the pipes that he approached us in 2015 about creating a reproduction. One of the most well known pipemaker of the 20th Century, the Peter Henderson name is synonymous with great tone. From 1880 until 1973, the Henderson shop on Renfrew street in Glasgow was a hub for top pipers. Pipes have acquired a reputation for quality and magical tone up to this day and is generally regarded as one of the best pipemakers in the history of the instrument.
